European Career Fair Bursary Scheme

The European Career Fair Bursary Scheme has been created to encourage early career stage researchers to explore employment opportunities in Europe. The scheme offers two bursaries; one for postgraduate research students and another for postdoctoral research staff who are interested in working for Science, Engineering or other technology related organisations, to attend RESEARCH, the European Research Career Fair in Paris on 19 November 2010

The fair offers researchers the opportunity to meet major European research organisations who are recruiting. See www.researchcareerfair.com for further details

Funding
Each bursary provides up to £265 to cover the following expenses:
  • Standard class Eurostar travel from Nottingham to Paris
  • One nights' accommodation costs in Paris
  • Meals and local travel
Event registration is free

Applications
Researchers who would like to apply for a bursary should submit a statement, up to 250 words maximum, outlining how attending this event will benefit their career

Successful applicants will be required to provide a brief written report of 250 - 300 words about the value of the visit no later than 4 weeks after attending

Statements of intent are to be emailed to researchers@nottingham.ac.uk by 12 noon on Friday 15 October 2010
