The purpose of the workshop is to provide a development opportunity for early-stage researchers and will include:
- Inter-cultural communication for the purpose of collaboration
- Project management for sustainable international collaboration
- Tips and techniques in bidding for external sources of funding
- Strategic skills: influencing, negotiating, presenting and embedding
- International partnership impact across your institution
- Techniques in developing and maintaining international networks
It would be a three day event and for successful applicants British Council INSPIRE will cover in-country travel costs, accommodation and meals for the duration of the workshop.
Participants
We are looking to have representatives from the UK as well as Central and South Asian countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan)
Key criteria
The applicant must have:
- (in the UK only) either obtained a doctoral qualification or be within 12 months of obtaining a doctoral qualification
- no more than six years overall active researcher experience
- no more than two years full tenure in a current tenured position
- committed to disseminating the workshop information to other young researchers in their own country at a later date (logistics will be organised by the local British Council office)
The decision will be made by the INSPIRE team in light of the evidence you provide to the questions on the application form. We will be looking to see your current involvement in the project, your ideas for sustainability and your commitment to helping the British Council cascade the training.
