- Establish networking opportunities with scholars and PhD peers within and beyond their area of specialisation;
- Offer PhD students constructive discussions with panels on their presented research and explore challenging questions; and
- Provide a supportive environment to develop their methodological questions and academic writing
A cash prize of £100 will be awarded for the best paper presented in each of the parallel sessions; the names of the winners will be published on our conference web page.
There is also the opportunity the papers may be selected for publication:
- On the China Policy Institute’s website as a discussion paper;
- In an edited volume of a leading publisher; or
- In a special issue of a leading international journals
Deadlines:
- Submission of abstracts of no more than 300 words: 15 July 2009
- Notification of acceptance of abstract: 31 July 2009
- Early registration (online or by email): 6 August 2009
- Submission of full papers: 28 August 2009
