University of Nottingham (venue: TBC).
The Graduate School, University of Nottingham is launching the NVivo 8 Symposium to bring together experienced researchers and postgraduate students to discuss topics of common interest about Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS).
The aim of the symposium is to provide Postgraduate Research Students and Research Staff who are new to qualitative data analysis with computer packages with an understanding of the way NVivo 8 can facilitate this process. We also aim at providing some practical experiences/recommendations of use by experienced researchers of this popular software as well as to facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions about the use of NVivo 8 in qualitative data analysis.
If you have been using this particular software package for your projects, we would like to invite you to share with us your experience, techniques and methodologies, and help the respective audience to make an informed decision about the best possible use of it.
We invite short papers (one A4 page) that encompass these aspects. Please include a short description of your project, from your understanding what's so special about NVivo 8 and finally a list (in the form of bullet points, if preferred) of the software's aspects/functions that you:
(a) use the most and the least
(b) have found useful and maybe frustrating
Please email your paper as an attachment (doc or pdf) to Mr Paraskevas Vezyridis (ntxpv@nottingham.ac.uk) by April 25 2009
You can find more information about funding to support researcher led activities on the Graduate School website.
